In the next few posts I will talk about this set of commissioned doujin/fan-art on Mega Man Battle Network. These are commissioned by cemex at 2008.2, if I recalled correctly. Initially 6 pictures are planned. But as the job went on, it eventually extended to 8 pictures and 1 wallpaper.
This set of pictures took me 1 year to finally finish. The reason it took so long is that it sort of interleaves with my regular book illustration job, and school. Also some accidents happened in between. (My work room was flooded in a typhoon once in that year, for instance.)
This is one reason why I haven't accepted any commission since. I never thought it would take me so damn long to finish something relatively small.
On to the pictures...
Before I started these pictures, I have never played any of the mega man games. Like, ever. Therefore I have to do some studies on the topic. I tried playing the Battle Network games on GBA (which I never finished, unfortunately), and saw some of the anime series. I do this because I believe that you cannot draw a good guro pic if you don't feel the "love" for the character.
Also I try to get the feel of how the "virtual" world of whatever Battle Network is in looks like, and then interpret it with my own style -- lots of metal grating, wires, etc. etc.
The first pic shows two droids holding Roll. The droids are modeled after this thing. I draw them in a way that suggests they are some kind of multilated former humans, with their abdomen removed, bondage gear etc.
Stay tuned for the commentary for the remaining pictures...

This is another picture I've done for the novel. Basically she is some sort of Elizabeth Báthory type character. In fact, she is the torturer behind this.
Since the publisher I'm working for has their standards, I've prepared a boring version and let them decide which one to choose. I would be pleasantly surprised if they decide to go with the bloody one.

Merry Christmas!
To tell you the truth, it's pretty hard to get a creative idea for Christmas guro. This pic, and the one last year, pretty much just pop up in my head in the last minute (which means I had barely enough time to finish it before Christmas Eve). Sure, I can draw a quadruple amputee wrapped up as a present, exploding gifts, stuff like that. But since I don't really do guro pics awfully often nowadays (due to workload), I figure that it's either a (hopefully) fresh idea, or don't do it at all.
The idea of this pic can actually be traced back to this one(2004):
Basically, a surprise visit from Santa.
I actually considered having the words written on the girl to be mirrored, so that she can read those words everytime she looks at the mirror. But cursive is almost unintelligible when filpped, so I left it as it is for the benefit of the viewer.

The main inspiration of this picture is... well, mosquitoes.
Around October and early November, a certain kind of mosquitoes enter their mating season where I live. There're literally thousands of them swarming every light source, ceilings etc. I didn't really notice them (since they don't bite, luckily) until I saw HUNDREDS of them hanging around my ceiling. While I've heard that you don't actually need to deal with them, since they'll just leave (and die) after the mating season, I still enjoy spraying my can of raid to them and watch them drop. Until I get to clean up the mess.

This is an old pic that I've drawn back in 2008-1-25.
Not much to say about this one. The theme of this picture is domestic violence/child abuse. I got the idea from reading some articles written by a social worker, which depicts a scene similar to this one.
Anyway, the pic is an excuse for me to post this PSA by the "Taiwan Fund for Children and Families" I saw the other day:
h t t p : / / www. ccf. org. tw /english/41.htm
(Sorry for the inconvenience. I could easily have posted a direct link, but I'd rather not have them trace back to the referral site, namely this sick, sick page.)
Translation:
1st sentence: Daddy's car is fixed! It's just like new!
2nd sentence: When can I have a new pair of hands?
What can I say. My first reaction is "BEST. AD. EVAR." My second reaction is "Wow, can they show this on television?"
In any case, it's beautiful. To quote HK-47 from the Star Wars games, "a new atrocity that leaves me analyzing its impact for days." I'm SO motivated to do a short comic of this. Too bad I don't have a lot of free time recently...
(Disclaimer: I'm totally AGAINST domestic violence and child abuse in real life.)

As you might know I spend most of my time (beside school) working as an illustrator for a couple of novels. The author gives me (relatively) a lot of freedom on choosing what I want to draw. And from time to time the novel does contain some gruesome scenes like this one:
The drawing is in grayscale since it's not a front/back cover, just something tucked inside the book. It's not as detailed as some of my other drawings since, well, they don't pay as much for these (ashamed).
However this is the first time I draw someone's mouth being sewn shut. I never did it before because I am ALWAYS bugged by the question: how do they eat? Feeding intravenously looks too "clinical", and feeding from the nose (heh) is just disgusting. XD
Anyway I might play with this idea a bit later.

Thematically, this is a continuation of my last pic (kidnap).
A while ago, there was a local girl who was hit by a truck, and ended up losing both her legs and one arm. Visiting victims with this kind of injuries would be pretty awkward -- since my cynical self thinks that telling her "get well soon" would be a little pointless.
I wanted to draw a pic with this theme for quite some time. The last pic inspired me to draw this as a continuation. I kid myself that I've used up all the blood in the last picture, that's why this one is so clean. I also always find stuffed animals a little unsettling.
Last but not least, flower bouquet is a b*tch to draw. Reminds me of the tedious drawing lessons I had when I was younger.

It's been a while since I last draw a guro pic.
I consider this is one of the most horrible scene I've ever drawn.
I never understand why some sick murderer would sent taunting letters to the victim's family (Zodiac comes to mind - scans of his letters always give me the creeps). I recently read a novel called "Goth" by Otsuichi in which the murder went even further by sending tape recording and body parts of the victim to her sister. Maybe that's the reason why I woke up to a nightmare of this scene a few nights ago.
The very next concious thought of mine is, of course, "I gotta draw this down."
For some reason I was always scared by creepy drawings by children, maybe this is why horror games/movies like using them.
I can't draw child-like pictures no matter how I tried, so I asked one of my friend who used to do stuff like this. He said, "draw with your left hand". Turns out the result still looks too clean and not child-like.

This is my first "public" futanari pic. I have drawn at least two before in my commissioned works, but those are not publicly available.
I was always semi-secretly a futanari lover. I've never drawn them before because I don't exactly like the idea of closely studying the male phallus. While the commission gave me an excuse/reason to do so, I still study the depiction of famous futanari doujinshi artworks instead of the real thing - something I rarely do.
This is not exactly a guro pic, so (for the first time) I posted it on 4chan. It was later reposted to gurochan anyway :p . I found out that it was also reposted to fapchan afterward, where it was much less appreciated. One poster go as far as calling the artist (yours truly) an "immature troll" for drawing that mousetrap. Oh well.

This picture was posted to Gurochan on Christmas Day 2008. It took me a while to update it to my own site. Sorry.
I got the idea of this picture when I was half-asleep, as usual (I still blame the guro-fairy). I took some time to find out how exactly a torn-out eyeball would look like. There are few realistic medical data on this one (since there is no reason to remove a healthy eyeball. And in the case where a complete exenteration is required, the eyeball itself is usually damaged beyond recognition). I found out as much as I could, but in the end I took some liberty on the representation.
Also, the eyeball is slightly larger than in reality (where it's around 1 inch in diameter) since their eyes are generally larger ala. anime style.
What I COULD precisely find was the look of an empty eye-socket where the eyelid remained intact. Like teeth removal, the eyelid would have this "sunken" look since there is no eyeball to support it anymore.
The main idea of this picture was a play on the "sitting on Santa's lap" ritual, and the list of good/naughty kids. I posted this picture on gurochan under the title of "She's gonna find out who's naughty or nice", referencing the song "Santa Claus is coming to town". I have no detail backstory of this scenario (again, as usual) so readers are free to conjure up their own version. I'm sure I will be happy to know or read about them.
Like my usual elf-motif, the victim girls are all heterochromatic, to show a sense of rare and preciousness. And the read hair ones are twins.
